Ali Marpet is an American football guard who played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL until his retirement in 2022. He played college football at Hobart College, a Division III school in upstate New York.
Despite playing at a small school, Marpet’s talent was evident, and he was a dominant force on the offensive line. He earned numerous accolades for his play, including being named a First-Team All-American by the Associated Press in his senior year. He also played in the Senior Bowl, where he impressed NFL scouts with his performance against top-level competition.
Marpet was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft and quickly established himself as a key player on their offensive line. He played in over 80 games for the team and was widely regarded as one of the best guards in the league. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2018 and 2019 and helped lead the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl victory in 2021.
Marpet’s retirement from the NFL was announced in March 2022. Despite his relatively short career, he is remembered as a talented and dedicated player who made significant contributions to the success of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
